OVERVIEW

During the process of working with our application, there are a number of automated processes we have added to help speed up the process. They are:

  • Batch Editing of Model Data
  • Batch Hiding and Showing of Fasteners
  • Batch Hiding and Showing of Envelopes
  • Batch Hiding and Showing of Types of Sketches
  • Batch Section Modifications
  • Matching of Holes from a plate to a section
  • Reverse Mates on a Welded Member or Section
  • Viewing a components custom properties in a flyout panel

BATCH DATA EDIT

One of those things that drives people crazy is having to manually go through each file and add or modify a field for the drawing to be shown from the underlying assembly or component. This feature, can batch add or modify a field and value to all selected components.

HIDE AND SHOW FASTENERS

Our fasteners are labelled in their filename as a fastener and are enveloped components, which makes it easy to isolate for showing and hiding.

HIDE AND SHOW ASSEMBLY ENVELOPES

Components that are to be used without showing up in a bill of materials or drawing are envelopes. Driving Sketch components, connection sections, Grid symbols and Reduced level symbols are just some examples.

HIDE AND SHOW SKETCHES

Different types of sketch entities can be isolated to be batch hidden or shown throughout an assembly and its components such as weldment profile sketches, driving sketches, non-driving sketch features, attachment sketch features.

BATCH MODIFY SECTIONS

The quickest way to batch update sections, is to close your project and use this feature to select a root folder and it will collect all of the sections in the root folder and its sub folders and list them ready for a new allocation of section size. This feature will open each section component and change the sections weldment profile to the one you have specified one after the other.

MATCH HOLES

If a plate or section component has holes that need to appear in another plate or section, then this feature will do precisely that. It places a HOLES component into the item to have new holes and creates a cavity cut based on the item to be matched.

REVERSE MATES

When inserting a Welded Member or Section part from the library into a project and the selection was to be inserted and attached to a sketch segment, the item is mated in place based on the sketch segment’s direction. If you find that the sketch is drawn in the wrong direction or there is some other reason to reverse the member Tthis feature will flip the mates and the item attached to it.

VIEW COMPONENT DATA

Instead of opening a component up and viewing its custom properties, simply select the component in an assembly and have its custom properties displayed in a notification panel. Marking, Description, Length, Weight can all be viewed. The feature has a toggle button to turn it on or off.
